This New Year, I challenge you to resolve to cultivate yourself as a person. Take your mental health seriously, improve your self-image by consciously changing your thought patterns, work on areas where you may be exhibiting toxic behavior, and learn new skills! There's a full moon in Cancer on January 1st! Use this time to dig deep, find your truth, and recognize areas where you truly need improvement.
Here's my personal list of resolutions! Get inspired!
The decision of when- and if- to reproduce is central to an individual's basic human rights. People who choose not to have children (especially women!) are often subjected to a myriad of hurtful comments and impertinent questions regarding their choice and physical reproductive capabilities. Sometimes, these questions and comments can be shocking, and it's hard to know just how to respond. Here are some common comments I receive regarding my childfree status and ideas on how to thoughtfully respond!
Boudoir photography is growing in popularity rapidly, and it's not hard to see why: it can boost confidence like crazy and can be a very empowering and liberating experience! Here are my top tips on how to make your boudoir session successful!
Toxic people can create negativity that seeps into all aspects of your life. They can affect your self-image, your mental health, your very sense of self and who you are as a person. So, how do you know if someone is truly toxic, and not just having a bad moment? When do you know when it's time to finally cut ties, and how do you go about it?
It's so easy to slip into a cycle of hating your body when it's not working properly. It's easy to feel bitter, alone, resentful and just all-around negative and depressed when your body is unhealthy in ways beyond your control — all of those feelings are completely valid.
Still, sulking is unhelpful. You can choose to dwell on your illness and spiral down into depression, or you can rise above it and not let it get the best of you. I've chosen to stay positive and live my life in spite of my diseases, which is totally more easily said than done. Here's how I do it:
Childfree people face so much stigma in our society. We're told we're selfish, unfulfilled, and incapable of making decisions about our own reproduction. We're assumed to hate children, we're told that we're not fulfilling some sacred or intrinsic obligation to procreate, we're belittled and harassed. Childfree lifestyles are completely valid. The decision not to have children isn't an attack on people who do have children, and there are a huge number of reasons both within and out of our control as to why we don't procreate. These are the main things that all childfree people want you to know!
